Why Volunteer? Once a person becomes a Christian and a member of a congregation there are important areas of stewardship to consider. We often refer to these areas as "time, talents, and treasure." Volunteerism is using our time and our talents (and our treasures, too) to insure that the church is stable, that it grows, and that God’s people feel a sense of ownership in what they have and in the mission that Christians share. When we volunteer we help the work of the church to continue, we feel fulfilled, and we feel as if we are part of a team. When we volunteer we also demonstrate that we believe what Jesus said when He proclaimed, "Go, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; for I am with you always, even to the close of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20) More Information on Volunteering to help the work of the church |
