WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe that the Bible is the true and inspired Word of God and the only source of divine truth concerning our relationship to God. Man by nature is a sinner and incapable of saving himself from his sins, death, or eternal damnation.

God through His Son, Jesus Christ, paid the price for man's sins in full on the cross, won the victory over death on Easter, and as the ascended Lord, today invites us through the "Gospel" (the "good news") in His Word to trust in Him fully for our salvation.

WHAT WE PROMISE

In our Baptism vows, as they are renewed again in our confirmation, we declare that we are renouncing the devil and all his works of unbelief, confessing before men our faith in the Triune God, and through our church membership and involvement, living for Jesus Christ.

As we worship, as we witness to others, as we serve in the Church--no matter how often we may falter in these sacred tasks assigned to us by the Savior, we seek to carry out His will among us. The words of the New Testament, and particularly the words of the epistles written by the disciples and other followers of Jesus, encourage us to be faithful until the Lord comes again at the end of time.

SERVICES

Each year our congregation follows a certain order for how and when we do things. Some of the traditions and worship "events" listed below are followed by many liturgical churches while some of the traditions are simply part of Immanuel congregation. The colors noted are the colors of the "paraments" or cloths on the altar, lectern, and pulpit.
